Obituary of James Burns
age 94, on Dec 17th. Loving husband of Joan. Beloved Father of Theresa Burns, Doreen (Wesley) Kaufmann, Michael (Jennifer) Burns and Patricia (Robert) Horn. Grandfather of Sarah, Drew, Christine and Chase.
Proud WWII Army Veteran of the 82nd Airborne who fought at the Battle of the Bulge, awarded Bronze Star ,Purple Heart, Belgium Fourragere and the European Campaign Badge. From 1950-1955 worked in the Foreign Service Office in London England and Athens Greece. Jim was the Senior Illustrator at RCA where he was technical illustrator on the Apollo Space Program. On Apollo 15 he participated in the design and development of the Lunar Communications Relay Unit and interface to Lunar Rover Vehicle and Lunar Module. He also participated in the Minute Man Missle Program as Technical Art Director. He had technical Art concepts published in Aviation Week and Space Technolgy and Fortune. Jim also attended school in Philadelphia, PA and the Chelsea Institute of Art in London, England
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his viewing and visitation Friday 10:30-11:30AM at EUGENE J ZALE FUNERAL HOME INC 712 N White Horse Pike Stratford NJ PH 856- 783-5100.
